GPO Witness History is one of Dublin’s newest visitor attractions in the iconic GPO building in the heart of Dublin city.

 

About GPO Witness History

The award-winning GPO Witness History is located in the historical GPO (General Post Office) building on O’Connell Street in the heart of Dublin City. The GPO was the headquarters of the 1916 Easter Rising, this hugely significant event led to the creation of the Irish Republic. GPO Witness Histor explores the 1916 Easter Rising and modern Irish history through touch screens, video, audiovisual booths, sound and authentic artefacts.

Directions

GPO Witness History is located 20 minutes via train from Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge, accessed from the Sandymount Dart station a short 5-minute walk from Clayton HTeol Ballsbridge. From Tara Street Station turn left and head north towards O’Connell Bridge, GPO Witness History is located on the left side of O’Connell Street opposite the Spire.
