The Book of Kells is Ireland’s Greatest Cultural Treasure
On display in Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin since the 19th century, the Book of Kells is Ireland’s greatest cultural treasure and the world’s most famous medieval manuscript. It is a richly decorated copy of the four Gospels written in Latin in the 9th century. It is currently displayed with two pocket gospels from the same period in the Old Library building.
