South Dublin County (includes the Administrative Regions of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, part of Dublin City, and South County Dublin) is the area south of River Liffey and Dublin City which extends to the Dublin Mountains near County Wicklow.
Much of this area is occupied by Dublin City’s suburbs but there is also a large area of hinterland, hills and mountains. The presence of the M50 Motorway allows easy access to all the national primary routes, the railway, and the seaports. Public Transport such the DART (Suburban Rail) line, an extensive bus service and the LUAS are all available in South Dublin.
South Dublin County is an ideal place to visit as it has many things to do and places to see. With almost 1,400 hectares of public parks and open spaces within the county, South Dublin County caters particularly well for sports and leisure enthusiasts with facilities covering golf, equestrian, angling, cycling, walking and many water sports.
